We took the kids and went to Claim Jumper for our New Years Eve dinner tonight.  We had to wait 90 minutes for a table but ran into friends and they joined us for dinner.  My prime rib was oh so yummy.  Thanks Aunt Cheryl for the gift certificate, we had so much fun.

The teenagers are downstairs with friends playing Tiger Woods golf on the Wii.  I'm cuddled up in my bed with Paige.  I stayed up until 3:00 a.m. last night talking with my 16 year old.  We have some of our best talks late into the night, he is defintely a night person. I felt fine this morning, but now, at 10:26 the sleep depravation is hitting me.

I think I will curl up in bed and go to sleep.  I think Dave can ring in the new year with the kids.  This mommy is just to tuckered to make it all the way to midnight this time.

May 2010 bring you all many special blessings.  I know two very special blessings I will receive in 2010.  May you all be so blessed.

Happy New Year!

More Kindness

The children have a piano teacher they have been going to for years.
Here's Samantha playing at the latest recital. The picture is a little blurry but we were trying to get a good picture of her hairdo. She looked lovely in her up do.
The children's piano teacher, Ms. Debi, was supposed to come to the adoption shower my family recently had for us. She got sick and was unable to attend.

Here is the cute cake the family got to welcome Levi and Amelia into our family. I thought it was so cute and sweet.

Anyway, Ms. Debi had Samantha come over for an extra lesson that she missed when Debi was sick. When I dropped her off Debi asked if I could come inside for a minute.

She presented me with a present that she had made for our family.

A blanket for each member of our family. Nine in all.

The blankets are so soft and warm, we all love them. Now when we have family movie night we each have our own blanket to cuddle up with. This is just one of so many thoughtful gifts we have received lately. I am truly overwhelmed by our family and friends kindness and love for our newest children.

Even family members, that were initially not sure about this whole adoption thing, have now jumped on the excitement band wagon. God can truly change the heart of man. I have seen it happen through out this journey. My faith has never been stronger than it is today.

Got Turkey?

I had a lot of left over Turkey from Christmas so I did a search this morning for recipes to use it in. I ended up making these sandwiches for lunch. Four of the five kids ate them and in this house that means it was a winner.

Turkey Sandwiches:

Mix together the following ingredients:

5 cups cooked turkey meat, chopped

1 cup finely chopped celery

1 fresh jalapeno, diced

3 tablespoons sweet pickle relish

1 cup mayo ( I used light mayo)

2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro

1 tsp. each salt and pepper

I served the sandwiches on wheat rolls with onion dip and chips. It was really yummy and now I have no leftover turkey left.

On another note, here are a few more pictures of my cute babies.....
I love this picture of Amelia sucking her thumb. So sweet.
My little man. He always has such a sweet smile on his face.

I'm off to help the children get the ornaments off the tree and put away. Our poor tree is very dry, it needs to be put out of its misery.

Behold The Cuteness!

My friend Missy sent me these new photo's of the children this morning. They are both so cute, I can't wait to be with them.

Here is some video she took also. Poor Levi doesn't understand what they are trying to tell him. Missy told me he is such a sweet sweet boy who gave her hugs. She also said that Amelia was voted the cutest baby in her room. You are so sweet Missy. Nothing warms a mama's heart more than receiving sweet words about her babies!
